Books

The Historical Tragedies -
A collection of stories about teenage girls living during some of the most famous tragedies in human history. The book was inspired by a project I had to do when I was in sixth grade. We visited the Science Museum to see the exhibit on Pompeii and were then asked to write a story about Pompeii. After writing one, I felt the need to write more stories and began to pick up tragedies from history class and books we read to write characters for.
I finished this book in the summer before seventh grade and has some of the characters I am most proud of. These stories inspired me to continue writing.

Once a Fisher, Always a Fisher -
A story of four best friends who were picked to swim as a junior Olympic team. I wrote this during seventh grade after we had visited London just before the 2012 Olympics.

Shadow Boy -
This book is about a teenage girl, Sophie, and her best friends when they meet a boy who is part of the Shadow World, sent to protect Sophie from her abusive older brother and legal guardian. The story was inspired by a series of books about fallen angels.

The Key to Zatraif -
The Key to Zatraif focuses on the son of a fallen princess turned to a rebel. Long before Marchin was born a disease plagued the entire country, the city of Zatraif was spared, but the royal family was not. Marchin’s mother had escaped the city as a young woman and didn’t return till she found out Zatraif had been taken over by Xavier, who had become dictator after the royal family died. She returned to lead the rebellion. When she is kidnapped and her older son killed, her eight-year-old Marchin took things into his own hands. Marchin and his best friend, Lucca, put it upon themselves to lead an assault against Xavier.
I wrote this story to highlight the importance of the younger generation in government and in life. Kids and teenagers are generally dismissed from taking part in politics and government, but most of the time they have relevant and important things to say. Marchin and Lucca are just two of the kids who feel this way, and not all kids have to be living under a dictatorship to have opinions about the world and what to do to fix it.

On its way to publication

Abreshan Invasion - In an attempt to be traditionally published.
During the Abreshan war anyone would tell you that space travel was not all it was cracked up to be. Codan and Cole would say the same, having been captured by the Abreshan and then taken into wartime slavery by another planet. The best friends escape together, accidentally uncovering a galaxy wide scandal and they are the only ones who can save the human system from total collapse. All for a ship named Betsie.
Much like The Key to Zatraif, Abreshan Invasion is about teenagers trying to save the world they live in, not for money, fame, or safety, but because it’s the right thing to do. In world where the younger generation, I’m hesitant to say millennials because people think of that word as derogatory, has a lot to say, but is largely dismissed as unimportant or caught up in their online image rather than the “real world”.
